Bantamweight Championship and Superfight Scheduled for Caged on the Coast 2 Event in Lincoln City

Lincoln City, OR - On Saturday, June 26th the Full Contact Fighting Federation (FCFF) comes to Lincoln City to host the "Caged on the Coast 2" event at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. The FCFF is Oregon's oldest and most respected mixed martial arts (mma) organization, and it's nationally recognized as the "Golden Gloves" of mma. Fighters flock from other states at a chance to compete at an FCFF event. FCFF Champions have been featured on Inside MMA, a nationally broadcast television program. All 14 fights will take place in the 25-foot steel cage, known as "The Slammer."

The Main Event at Caged on the Coast 2 is the Bantamweight Championship pitting Vancouver's Matt "Lights Out" Lowry against Jessee "Flying" Filan of Roseberg, Oregon. Lowry, known as a heavy-handed slugger, last competed in the FCFF at Rumble @ The Roseland 29. There he defeated Toshi Mori, a fighter from Japan, with ease. In the first round he executed a takedown from the clinch and dropped an overhand right, plus a few more strikes - ending the bout in a knockout. This will be his first time back in the FCFF after a three-year absence.  "Matt Lowry is explosive and very powerful fighter for his size," said FCFF co-owner and matchmaker Kevin Keeney, "this is going to be a great main event; Lowry has exceptional ground and pound and Jessee has crazy good Jiu-Jitsu."

The Caged on the Coast 2 fight card also features a Featherweight Superfight. The 145-pound Superfight puts California's Jesse Peacock against Portland's Justin Mark. Both competed at Caged on the Coast 1 on May 1st; Mark had an action packed battle against Joe Hefley that ended in a Technical Knockout (TKO) in round number three. He fought at 170-pounds, when Mark normally fights at only 145-pounds. He took this last minute fight to move himself up as the number one contender for the 145-pound FCFF Championship. Mark's focus is to fight Champion John Alden of TSN, when he comes out of his three-month break in August. "I want Alden," said Mark, "I want to compete in 10 events in 2010 and I want Alden." Mark also competed on March 6th at Rumble @ The Roseland 50 and beat Aaron Wolf with an impressive choke out in only 1:24 of round number one.

Another stand out bout on the Caged on the Coast 2 fight card is the female fight. Paige Grider of Tigard, Oregon will be making her mma debut on June 26th. She is a paramedic student and fights out of Team Quest - Tualatin under Scott McQuarry. "We are very excited to see Paige fight, at Team Quest she is getting the best training in the area - we cannot wait to see what she can do in the cage," said Keeney. Grider stands at 5'7" and weights in at 155-pounds; she comes to the cage on her own, without her parents support. She will take on 40-year-old, Gidget Edwards of Sweet Home, Oregon. Edwards has had one other mma bout, and has two-years experience under her belt. "Women fights tend to steal the show. Typically we see 115-pound and 125-pound women wanting to fight, not 155-pound - this will be the largest weight division fight for women we've ever had in FCFF history. We should see some real power from Paige, she has an extensive history in boxing," said Keeney.

Chael Sonnen, FCFF Co-owner & UFC Fighter - WILL SIGN AUTOGRAPHS AT EVENT!

It was announced by Dana White of the UFC, that Chael Sonnen will be the next man to fight Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 117 on August 7th. Sonnen, from West Linn, Oregon trains in the Northwest, primarily at Team Quest Fight Club. Sonnen's most notable wins are against former WEC champion Paulo Filho, Nate Marquardt at UFC 109, former IFL champion Dan Miller, and Yushin Okami of Japan at UFC 104. Sonnen was a NCAA Division I All-American wrestler at the University of Oregon, a two-time University National Champion in Greco Roman, and a US Olympic team alternate.
